Fiberglass and Concrete Swimming Pool Photos

These photos are from a fiberglass/concrete hybrid swimming pool built during the 1970's. I consider these pools to be among the finest ever built in America.

The only problem: No one seems to understand how to repair and resurface these outstanding swimming pools.

I have included photos taken by the pool owner as the installation progressed. I have also included a letter which we received with the photos.

Dear Mr. Nash,

You saved our pool! We bought our home 3 years ago and the pool was great. But by this year it had deteriorated to such a state that we had to close it early. The pool bottom was lined with polyester-based fiberglass and the gelcoat was nearly gone after 13 years. There were literally thousands of pinholes and also some torn areas, We were losing over 200 gallons of water a day and the algae was unstoppable. We were losing the pool.

We had been watching your website the past couple of years, while researching the best way to fix the pool. Your system looked like the best approach. After talking with several local pool businesses and a pool repair company, we decided we could do the job for about the same cost as a vinyl liner and way, way cheaper than a fiberglass repair by a pool repair company. Plus, as an engineer and avid do-it-yourselfer, I would KNOW what had been done and how.

Well, the results are amazing. The bright white is fabulous, making for a medium blue pool during the day and a light blue pool at night with the pool lights on. The pool color now has moods that go with the clouds, much more interesting.

The materials arrived on time, and the tools provided were first-rate. The instructions were clear and toll-free technical support was available when we needed it. Because of additional repairs that we had decided to make after we started, we were shy one gallon of resin. One phone call and it was here the next day, and we continued on schedule! Make no mistake, this was a big job. But by the second day my little team of volunteers had the system down.

Thanks again for providing this product, I could find nothing else comparable. I look forward to many years of trouble-free enjoyment!
